The Unified Audience Explorer (beta) allows for the exploration of first-party CRM customer data alongside the Zeta Data Cloud to create both Prospect and Customer audiences using enrichment from the Zeta Data Cloud. This feature combines the Audience Explorer and Segment/List building workflows into one user interface. The Unified Audience Explorer can also be used independently of the Data Cloud or first-party data if desired.

Getting Started

Upon clicking Explore Audience in the Segments & Lists screen, a prompt to choose an Audience Source will be presented. The choices provided are My Customers and Zeta Prospects. Audiences can be built using both options.

My Customers

When choosing to filter using My Customers, four, sometimes five, filter types will be presented. Use one or more of these filter types to define a segment or list based on the underlying customer dataset.

Once an initial filter is chosen click the ‘+' on the far left to add additional filters, including a Zeta Prospects filter. To add a nested filter, click the '+’ directly to the left of the appropriate, previously added, filter.

Zeta Prospects

When choosing to filter using Zeta Prospects, five filter types will be presented. Use one or more of these filter types to define a Customer or Prospect Segment or List based on the underlying Zeta Data Cloud dataset.

This means that, in addition to creating standard Prospect Audiences for Acquisition, for people in a customer dataset that match up with people in the Zeta Data Cloud, a Customer Segment or List can be created using only Zeta Prospect filters.

Saving an Audience

Once the appropriate combination of filters have been selected, it’s time to save the audience by clicking the green “Save Audience” button in the top right.

This will display a prompt to name the audience, choose the category, and set any additional options.

Customers

The Customers category will create a segment (or list if enabled) of people in the customer dataset stored in ZMP that qualify for the chosen filter criteria.

Additional options include:

  • Enable Tracking

    • For eligible filter criteria, generates entry/exit events in real-time as users qualify/disqualify. Enables reporting on segment membership over time.

  • Restrict Messaging Frequency

  • Create a List

    • Creates a static list of qualified people at the time the Audience was saved.

Prospects

Additional options include:

  • Create a List

    • Creates a static list of qualified people at the time the Audience was saved.
