Device targeting enables the inclusion or exclusion of devices, including by the operating system of mobile devices. If you do not apply device targeting, all devices will be included by default.
Although Device targeting remains in the platform for a few campaigns that need its fine-grained detail, most campaigns benefit from the use of Delivery Channel Targeting instead.
1. Within the Targeting tab of the Campaign Builder, the Targeting grid appears. Click on the sign against each row or object to add in its targeting rules.
2. Select Devices.
3. To enable targeting of particular devices, select Include. To exclude particular devices, select Exclude. Select the desired device(s) to add them to the column on the right.
4. Click on Save & Close when complete.
Currently, the Zeta DSP cannot target most devices by model (i.e., Samsung S7, Samsung Galaxy S20, iPhone 11, etc.).
The Device Targeting feature allows you to either target a set of devices (i.e., Android, iPhone, Computer) or exclude a set of devices, but not to target some and exclude others. In effect, targeting certain devices means the AI is less likely to present Ads on the others. Conversely, excluding a set of devices means that only the other device types will see Ads.
