Types of Segments & Lists

Types of Segments
Customer Segment | A segment that consists of people from the Customer’s database or their own property, such as an integrated site or partners. Such segments can include people identified by customer-designated identifiers such as user_id, email, offline collection of unknown visitors from their site (zync_id), or hashed email addresses from their partners (email_md5_id) |
Prospect Segment | A segment that consists of people from Zeta Data Cloud |
Tracked | A term typically used in conjunction with any Segment indicating that the segment is being tracked for membership changes. Such segments generate a ‘Segment Entry’ event when a person enters and a ‘Segment Exit’ event when a person exits the segment. |
Query-Based | A term used in conjunction with a Segment to indicate that the source of the segment is a direct query from a connected database like BigQuery or Snowflake. |
Types of Lists
Customer List | A list that consists of people from the Customer’s database or their own property, such as an integrated site or partners. Such lists can include people identified by customer-designated identifiers such as user_id, email, offline collection of unknown visitors from their site (zync_id), or hashed email addresses from their partners (email_md5_id) |
Prospect List | A segment that consists of people from Zeta Data Cloud |
Matched List | A type of Prospect List that is generated by matching a Customer List with Zeta Data Cloud. |
Lookalike | A type of Prospect List that is generated by matching and extending a Customer List with Zeta Data Cloud. |
Any segment or customer list will take time to process based on the audience count.
